Another Source's client, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, is recruiting an Administrative Assistant to join the Development and Communications team in San Jose, California. This position will play a vital role in planning events and social media communication - it is an exciting time to join the team at Housing Trust Silicon Valley!

About the role:

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in participating in many different areas of business operations and supporting a Development and Communications team. In this role you will help plan events, assist in management of data through Salesforce, distill information and data for social media posts and written content, compile data for groundbreakings and grand openings, fill in gaps as needed by the team.

Reporting to the Chief Development and Communications Officer (CDCO) the Development & Communications Associate will support the overall operations of the Development and Communications department by providing strong administrative support. This includes supporting the Communications Manager and Development Manager. This position will also assist with the planning and execution of Housing Trust events and Affordable Housing Week/Month events, and other events both virtual and in person.   


Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supporting Communications (~40%) 
  • Supporting Development and Impact (~40%) 
  • Events Management (~20% 



  • Associate degree in a relevant field  
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an office setting  
  • Proficiency in standard office software - Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint   
  • Experience with, or enthusiasm for learning new systems such as CRM such as Salesforce and file management software such as Box  
  • Highly organized and strong time management skills  
  • Efficient administrative processes and procedures  
  • Effective filing systems - electronic and hard copy  
  • Understand the organization’s mission and communicate it effectively  
  • Effectively accumulate and present data, verbally and in written form  
  • Operate with the highest degree of integrity  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while exhibiting a strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and ability to manage deadlines.   
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders  
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
