Another Source’s client, CSU Long Beach, is recruiting an Associate Director of Financial Aid Systems to join their team working in a hybrid capacity, working 4 days on the campus and 1 day remote once training is complete.

As the Associate Director of Financial Aid Systems, you’ll provide leadership and oversight to staff in support of the CMS Financial Aid Module and fiscal operations of a comprehensive student financial aid delivery system that administers over $400 million annually. The position provides strategic direction and guidance on the utilization of existing and deployment of new technologies to achieve optimal quality of service, and leads process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Associate Director also employs project management skills to facilitate operational objectives, and oversees required statistical data and financial reporting activities you’ll be instrumental in enhancing the lives of our military-connected students while building programs that make a lasting difference.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $125,000K annually based on experience.  

What you will be doing:  

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the PeopleSoft Student Administration Financial Aid Module activities, including the development and utilization of automated processes and technology to facilitate quality service and enhance operational efficiency. 

• Provide leadership and management support to the financial aid team through medium and long term planning, developing office policy and philosophy, facilitating staff development, mentoring team members, and supervising staff. 

• Provide oversight, direction, and ensure effective and efficient coordination, planning and monitoring of workflow for the financial aid fiscal operations unit. 

• Manage and coordinate required financial aid data reporting activities with Federal, State, and System-wide entities. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, business, social sciences).  Master's degree preferred.   

• Three to five years of related experience.  

• Experience in organizing work, establishing procedure for completing work and monitoring workflow and workload. 

• Knowledge of on-line student information systems (PeopleSoft preferred) and imaging systems. 

• Knowledge of standard financial aid processing systems, applications and verification procedures. 

• In-depth working knowledge of financial aid programs. 

• Skilled in performing accurately with heavy workload requirements and the ability to use effective time management skills in order to prioritize tasks to accomplish goals with established time frames. 

• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty and peers. 

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare written materials for clients. 

• Ability to analyze user needs and translate into detailed specifications. 

• Strong data analysis and research skills. 

• Proven ability to design, develop, implement and maintain complex technical rules in support of business processes. 

• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
