Stanford Online High School offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, however this position is eligible for a remote work arrangement, upon mutual agreement. You must be located within the United States of America and be available to travel to the main campus up to three times per year for important in-person events. About the role:
The Academic Technology Manager will be responsible for managing the team that provides direct support to OHS and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS) students, as well as their instructors. This role involves monitoring and ensuring the continuous availability of external platforms required for instruction, working closely with external vendors to prevent technical disruptions and ensure that classes run smoothly. The Academic Technology Manager will be leading the development of resources on existing technical platforms to help onboard new students and instructors as well as leading workshops on exploring new innovative technologies that support instruction and learning. Staying current with EdTech research, particularly Generative AI, and advocating for effective use of educational technology across departments are crucial aspects of the role.
This position will report to the Director of Technology and your day will likely include:
Technology Leadership & Support: Ensure seamless technology integration for synchronous and asynchronous classes, addressing system issues with vendors and minimizing downtime.
Help Desk Management: Oversee tech support team, ensuring timely responses to student and instructor tickets, Slack channel monitoring, and escalation resolution.
Scheduling & Coverage: Manage tech support scheduling, including extended hours at peak times and onsite support for in-person summer programs.
Training & Documentation: Develop and maintain tech support resources, including written guides and video tutorials for instructors and students.
Policy & Process Improvement: Analyze and enhance academic technology policies, including acceptable use and process automation.
Innovation & Research: Lead projects on emerging EdTech tools, consult with vendors, and explore AI applications for instruction.
Instructor Onboarding: Ensure new instructors receive access and training on key technologies, improving onboarding resources.
Instructional Design & Advocacy: Support faculty in using EdTech effectively and promote best practices across departments.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
