Description: What you'll be doing

Another Source’s client, The University of Texas at Austin, is recruiting an Electrical Engineer Project Manager to join their Infrastructure team within the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) department.   This role is critical to the successful execution of highly technical, mission-critical infrastructure projects that impact the entire campus.

The Role: 

  • Lead electrical construction and renovation projects for campus infrastructure, including new construction, system upgrades, and utility improvements. 
  • Provide project management from concept through completion, including scope, design coordination, budget, procurement, schedule tracking, construction oversight, and stakeholder communication. 
  • Manage both major (≥ $10M) and minor (< $10M) capital improvement projects. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and state/regulatory agencies. 
  • Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and university design and construction guidelines. 
  • Use tools such as MS Project, FAMIS, and Microsoft Office Suite to document and track project status. 
  • Mentor junior project managers and support professional development across the team. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing engineering design and construction projects (institutional or commercial) 
  • Experience with: 
  • Contract documents (plans, specs) 
  • Construction bidding and contract negotiation 
  • Life safety and building codes, including NFPA 101, IBC, ASHRAE, IECC, ADA, Texas Accessibility Standards 
  • Software: MS Project, Excel, Word 

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas, or eligibility for reciprocity

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $123,000 if you have a Professional Engineer (PE) license. If you do not have a PE, the salary is $112,000.
