Take the lead on internal accountability, accreditation, and compliance as Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Compliance at Florida State University Police Department. In this command-level role, you’ll oversee internal affairs investigations, manage background checks for new hires, audit evidence systems, and guide department-wide accreditation and policy initiatives. You’ll supervise the Accreditation Manager and evidence technicians while serving as FSUPD’s Emergency Management Liaison—supporting coordination with the University’s Emergency Operations Center. Reporting to the Captain of Professional Standards, this is a critical role in driving modernization, integrity, and public trust across the department.

This position ensures policy compliance and operational integrity while supervising the property and evidence unit and serving as the department’s Emergency Management Liaison. The Lieutenant is a member of the FSUPD Command Staff and collaborates directly with department leadership on critical initiatives. Reporting to the Captain of Professional Standards and Compliance The Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Compliance will supervise a civilian accreditation manager and student evidence technicians.
