Another Source’s client, Cal State LA, is recruiting a Title IX Investigator to join their Office of Civil Rights and Title IX team on-site in Los Angeles, CA.

About the role:   

The Title IX Investigator plays a critical role in supporting the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX by managing cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation impacting both students and employees. This position ensures university-wide compliance with federal and state laws while actively contributing to education, prevention, and enforcement efforts that promote an inclusive, respectful campus environment. 

 

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $99,000-$105,000 annual 
based on experience.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Title IX Officer in managing and responding to Title IX and civil rights complaints. 
  • Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation based on protected status. 
  • Ensure compliance with Title VII, Title IX, ADA, VAWA/Campus SaVE Act, FEHA, and CSU policies. 
  • Implement interim protective and supportive measures when needed. 
  • Apply university policies and procedures and take appropriate enforcement actions. 
  • Deliver training for faculty, staff, and students on related topics and policies. 
  • Assist with campus-wide Title IX education, communication, and awareness efforts. 
  • Maintain and update case management systems and generate regular data reports. 
  • Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator on notification protocols, training, website content, and outreach. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field 
  • Three years of related professional experience, including training development and delivery 
  • Advanced knowledge of: 
  • Title IX, Title VII, ADA, VAWA, FEHA, and related regulations 
  • Best practices for compliance in higher education 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); intermediate HRIS or Excel skills preferred 
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to: 
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment 
  • Analyze and interpret policies, CSU procedures, and technical guidance 
  • Manage a complex caseload and meet deadlines 
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution 
  • Two years of experience conducting HR, EEO, or Title IX investigations 
  • Working knowledge of gender-based violence issues
