Another Source’s client, Cal State LA, is recruiting a Title IX Officer to join their Office of Civil Rights team on-site in Los Angeles.

About the role:   

Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Vice President for Human Resources Management and reporting to the University President, this key leadership position oversees the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX. 

The Title Officer is responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with federal and state regulations related to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and Title IX. This includes the thorough review, assessment, and monitoring of HR policies, practices, and procedures to safeguard equity and prevent systemic barriers. 

The Title IX Officer provides timely reporting and actionable recommendations to the Senior Associate Vice President of Human Resources Management to facilitate corrective measures and strengthen the University's commitment to equity and inclusion.   (Internally, this position is titled: Title IX Officer and Director of Human Resouces - Equity and Diversity Policies and Procedures) 

 

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $150,000-$180,000 based on experience.   

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the Civil Rights and Title IX Office, providing strategic direction and daily oversight. 
  • Serve as the University’s designated Title IX Compliance Officer, ensuring proactive education, prevention, and response initiatives. 
  • Supervise and support a growing team of EEO and Title IX staff, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven work environment. 
  • Monitor and review HR policies, practices, and procedures to ensure alignment with equity, diversity, and legal compliance standards. 
  • Provide expert guidance to university leadership on best practices for promoting an inclusive and legally compliant campus community. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university 
  • 3–5 years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in human resources 
  • Significant experience conducting HR-related investigations 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in a higher education environment 
  • Experience in a unionized or collective bargaining setting
