The WSU Vancouver campus’s 351 acres encompass 6 miles of trails, forestland, fields, a BPA right-of-way, a portion of Salmon Creek, and offers breathtaking views of Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood. WSU Vancouver is also recognized as a Tree Campus Higher Education institution. There are sixteen buildings, three of which are certified LEED gold, and three structures on campus that total 540,000 gross square footage.
About the role:
The Facilities Director is a key leader responsible for providing a safe, healthy and comfortable environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors and who strives to provide timely, cost effective and professional services that enhances the instructional, research and service goals of the campus. This position oversees physical plant operations including all buildings, grounds, utilities, custodial, environmental health and safety, space planning, the mailroom and capital projects. The incumbent ensures that the physical operation of campus meets budgetary and strategic objectives and is a liaison with government, regulatory and administrative agencies. The Facilities department has an operating budget of approximately $4 million plus varying levels of capital funds, and a workforce of roughly 45 full and part-time staff as well as student employees. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Finance, Operations and Enrollment.
