- The dedication of Olympic Ridge in Capitol Hill marked a new chapter in building vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods
- At the Home is the Key event, Habitat convened leaders in housing equity and announced Liberty Commons, its largest development to date—58 condominiums in Columbia City
- A partnership with African Community Housing & Development broke ground at 3601 MLK Way, advancing 65 permanently affordable homes in Rainier Valley
Today, Habitat operates with an annual budget of approximately $85 million and a workforce of about 145 employees, supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate development, construction, homeownership, advocacy, and community partnership efforts. Looking ahead, the organization is on track to complete 67 new homes in FY2026, with an additional 257 homes planned by FY2030 across King and Kittitas Counties.

The Opportunity
The Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) is a senior executive leader responsible for shaping an organizational culture rooted in trust, belonging, accountability, and wellbeing. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role serves as a strategic advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that people strategy strengthens mission delivery today while building capacity for the future.
The CPCO will design and lead a comprehensive People & Culture strategy that connects employees to impact, strengthens leadership capability, and builds systems that allow people—and communities—to thrive.

What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for a people leader who:
- Leads with integrity, empathy, and clarity
- Understands that trust and culture are strategic assets, not abstract ideals
- Brings depth in organizational design, talent strategy, and change leadership
- Is comfortable operating at both enterprise and human levels
- Is energized by mission-driven work and long-term community impact
- Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP, or SCP are valued
A bachelor’s degree is preferred and at least 10 years of progressive HR experience and a minimum of three years management level is required. Nonprofit experience, experience working with a Board of Directors, and real estate development, construction and/or retail industry experience are strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $195,683–$244,604, commensurate with experience.
